Poem of the Week #8: The Strongest Girl I Ever Knew

The Strongest Girl I Ever Knew

She never got to dance,
Or go to her own Prom.
She never got the chance,
To forget where she came from.

She never got to kiss,
A man she idolized.
She never felt love's bliss,
'Cause she was paralyzed.
jasdjka

She never got to talk,
About love with a smile.
She never got to walk,
Down a Church's Aisle.

She never got to say,
Those precious words "I Do".
But she was far and away,
The strongest girl I ever knew.

She couldn't brush her hair,
Or put make up on her face.
She couldn't hold you dear,
Or give you a warm embrace.

She couldn't clasp her hands,
As if in the form of prayer.
She couldn't understand,
Why she was in a wheelchair.

She never showed her fears,
Or let you hear her cries.
She never showed the tears,
That fell down from her eyes.

She never looked for pity,
Or sympathy from you.
That's why she'll always be,
The strongest girl I ever knew.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift -
She was born on December 13th, 1989. Born and raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, but now lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She was only 16 when she released her first album "Tim McGraw, " in 2006. In 2008 Taylor released her second album "Fearless." She also won 4 Grammys including Album of the Year. On October, 25th her new album "Speak Now" came out and sold 1,047,000 copies within the first week. Taylor has made songs that she feels like connects with her and others. She said in an interview with People magazine "I have never wrote a song that didn't mean something to me." She also wrote on her Official website that "These songs are made up of words I didn't say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person. To the beautiful boy whose heart I broke in December. To my first love who I never thought would be my first heartbreak. To my band. To a mean man I used to be afraid of. To someone who made my world very dark for a while. To a girl who stole something of mine. To someone I forgive for what he said in front of the whole world."

The Boys -
Taylor has had bad luck with relationships in the past two years. From Joe Jonas onto Taylor Launter then John Mayer. In 2008, Taylor and Joe started a relationship that quickly ended before it even could began. On the Fearless album "Forever & Always" indicated her heartbreak from Joe. The song mainly describes how Joe could tell her that they were going to be together forever and always, but then came along some other girl that took him away (there is a song called "Better then Revenge" on the Speak Now album which really reflects Taylor's feelings on that situation.) Also, there is a song on the album called "Dear John" which reflects on Taylor's relationship with John Mayer. It was a short relationship, but he mainly used her and messed with her feelings. Listen to the song and you will understand.
The Fame-

Taylor has to deal with the fact that she is out in the public eye and yes, she will get criticized for almost every little thing she does. She understands that and mainly ignores the mean people and looks for what she can improve on. Taylor singed Innocent at the VMA's this year to show Kayne that it's okay and she forgives him for humiliating her at 2009 VMA's. Taylor said "'For me, I felt like performing VMAs was the best way to go out there and sing how I was actually feeling, being there really helped put all that behind me.. I've written all the songs on it about things that have happened over the last two years, and a lot has happened over the last two years. It’s been every eventful, a lot of adventures and misadventures." Her motto about dealing with fame is "There’s nothing that hard about it. It's not that tough, I’m not complaining."

Music

I like to listien to music when I am in school because it makes my day go faster. One thing I do not like to do is drive without music because it drives me crazy. I have to have my music up loud when I drive. Don't ask me why. I like pretty much all music besides slow and calm songs. They make me tired or bored. I like songs that have fast beat and that sing fast. I listening to country and a little bit of rap. I have to be in the right mood to listen to rap. Most people like rap but if they really knew what they were saying in the songs, I don't think they would like it very much. Rap songs are just talking about drugs and other things that are not very good for people to be listening to. It will just make them want to do bad things themselves. What kind of music do you listen to? I hope it doesn't have bad stuff in it. : )
