Poem of the Week #8: The Strongest Girl I Ever Knew

The Strongest Girl I Ever Knew

She never got to dance,
Or go to her own Prom.
She never got the chance,
To forget where she came from.

She never got to kiss,
A man she idolized.
She never felt love's bliss,
'Cause she was paralyzed.
jasdjka

She never got to talk,
About love with a smile.
She never got to walk,
Down a Church's Aisle.

She never got to say,
Those precious words "I Do".
But she was far and away,
The strongest girl I ever knew.

She couldn't brush her hair,
Or put make up on her face.
She couldn't hold you dear,
Or give you a warm embrace.

She couldn't clasp her hands,
As if in the form of prayer.
She couldn't understand,
Why she was in a wheelchair.

She never showed her fears,
Or let you hear her cries.
She never showed the tears,
That fell down from her eyes.

She never looked for pity,
Or sympathy from you.
That's why she'll always be,
The strongest girl I ever knew.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift -
She was born on December 13th, 1989. Born and raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, but now lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She was only 16 when she released her first album "Tim McGraw, " in 2006. In 2008 Taylor released her second album "Fearless." She also won 4 Grammys including Album of the Year. On October, 25th her new album "Speak Now" came out and sold 1,047,000 copies within the first week. Taylor has made songs that she feels like connects with her and others. She said in an interview with People magazine "I have never wrote a song that didn't mean something to me." She also wrote on her Official website that "These songs are made up of words I didn't say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person. To the beautiful boy whose heart I broke in December. To my first love who I never thought would be my first heartbreak. To my band. To a mean man I used to be afraid of. To someone who made my world very dark for a while. To a girl who stole something of mine. To someone I forgive for what he said in front of the whole world."

The Boys -
Taylor has had bad luck with relationships in the past two years. From Joe Jonas onto Taylor Launter then John Mayer. In 2008, Taylor and Joe started a relationship that quickly ended before it even could began. On the Fearless album "Forever & Always" indicated her heartbreak from Joe. The song mainly describes how Joe could tell her that they were going to be together forever and always, but then came along some other girl that took him away (there is a song called "Better then Revenge" on the Speak Now album which really reflects Taylor's feelings on that situation.) Also, there is a song on the album called "Dear John" which reflects on Taylor's relationship with John Mayer. It was a short relationship, but he mainly used her and messed with her feelings. Listen to the song and you will understand.
The Fame-

Taylor has to deal with the fact that she is out in the public eye and yes, she will get criticized for almost every little thing she does. She understands that and mainly ignores the mean people and looks for what she can improve on. Taylor singed Innocent at the VMA's this year to show Kayne that it's okay and she forgives him for humiliating her at 2009 VMA's. Taylor said "'For me, I felt like performing VMAs was the best way to go out there and sing how I was actually feeling, being there really helped put all that behind me.. I've written all the songs on it about things that have happened over the last two years, and a lot has happened over the last two years. It’s been every eventful, a lot of adventures and misadventures." Her motto about dealing with fame is "There’s nothing that hard about it. It's not that tough, I’m not complaining."

Music

I like to listien to music when I am in school because it makes my day go faster. One thing I do not like to do is drive without music because it drives me crazy. I have to have my music up loud when I drive. Don't ask me why. I like pretty much all music besides slow and calm songs. They make me tired or bored. I like songs that have fast beat and that sing fast. I listening to country and a little bit of rap. I have to be in the right mood to listen to rap. Most people like rap but if they really knew what they were saying in the songs, I don't think they would like it very much. Rap songs are just talking about drugs and other things that are not very good for people to be listening to. It will just make them want to do bad things themselves. What kind of music do you listen to? I hope it doesn't have bad stuff in it. : )

Live Life.

I understand that today isn't Poem of the Week, but I just wanted to post this poem because I thought it would be interesting for you guys to read. It doesn't exactly seem like a poem but remember, not all poems rhyme.

Live Life.

Life is crazy,
and totally unpredictable...
It's going to push you over,
kick you while you're down
and hit you when you try to get back up.
Not everything can beat you.
Things are going to change you,
But you get to choose which ones you let change you.
Listen to your heart,
Follow your dreams,
And let no one tell you what you're capable of.
Push the limits,
Bend the rules,
And enjoy every minute of it.
Laugh at everything,
Live for as long as you can.
Love all,
PhotobucketBut trust none.
Believe in yourself,
And never lose faith in others
Settle for nothing but only the best,
And give 110% in everything you do.
Take risks,
Live on the edge,
Yet stay safe,
And cherish every moment of it.
Life is a gift,
Appreciate all the rewards,
And jump on every opportunity.
Not everyone's going to love you
But who needs them anyways.
Challenge everything,
And fight for what you believe.
Back down to nothing,
But give in to the little things in life,
After all, that is what makes you.
Forget the unnecessary,
But remember everything,
Bring it with you everywhere you go.
Learn something new,
And appreciate criticism.
Hate nothing,
But dislike what you want.
Never forget where you came from,
And always remember where you are going.
Live Life to its fullest,
And have a reason for everything,
Even if it's totally insane.
Find Your purpose in life,
and Live it!

The Creative World of Origami

Have any of you heard of origami? It is a neat and crafty thing, if you ask me. Origami is the art of folding paper to form shapes. As it is said in the textbooks, paper was first made in China. Origami got its name from the Japanese language. "Ori" means folding and "kami" means paper. Therefore, they named this origami. Where does origami originate from? Most people would say China but others debate against it. Some people believe that Japan actually came up with it. If you would like to know more about this, click here.
There are many shapes that you can make with origami. Did you know that the fortune teller is a part of origami? I've only made a crane, heart, fortune teller, and frog. If you would like to see a few examples of what you can make with origami, look below. ( Click the pictures to view the instructions on how to make it )

High School Football

On Saturday, we played our last game for the season. We lost the game but I think that we played an okay game. If the ball would have got in the air and caught by the right person, we would have been in good shape. I think the other team was just a little bit faster than us. They had a boy that could run the ball pretty good. He was just a pretty powerful kid. I wish we could of won but we did our best. It was a tough team to beat because they came mad and ready to play. I did think it was nice to see a lot of people have team spirit. Have you ever played a tough team like we did? Let me know if you have. Also, maybe you were on the team we played. Let me know.
